Welcome to My Holiday House

December 12, 2007 by Stephanie Vanderslice Filed Under: Uncategorized

In my other life, I admire blogs like Karla Nathan.  She’s invited us to share our Christmas houses today so, here’s some of my favorite Christmas decor:

Ok, this is still a work in progress. I’ll have to come back to it. SV

if you use photobucket to host your images, just click on “resize” and select “email/webpage.” that will fix you right up.

oh, and this counts as a post for the raffle! 🙂

Those tiny skates are completely precious. You’ve given me inspiration to dust the spiders off my decorations and get the damned things in the house.

So, I commented on a post that’s months old, because I did a Google search for your blog and it directed me there.
My favorite Christmas songs…I like “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” but it’s so easy to camp it up. I guess you could say the same for most Christmas music.
I’ve just discovered The Pogues’ “Fairytale of New York” because KT Tunstall covered it. It’s brilliant. If there’s any argument against your statement that song lyrics are inherently different than poetry, I’m going to find it in the Britpop movement.
Chip Davis (Mannheim Steamroller) has a beautiful arrangement of “Stille Nacht” on the original Christmas album.
They Might Be Giants have some deliciously twisted songs about the wanting of presents (“Santa Claus” and “Careless Santa”) on their Holidayland EP.
Your decorations are adorable. Meanwhile, I’m living in a dorm.
By the way, I finally went for the gusto, at your advice.

There’s that. Let the Grand Experiment begin.
